World Elder Abuse Awareness Day – Respect, Protect, and Support Our Senior Citizens
Every year on 15th June, the world observes World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) to raise awareness about the challenges, neglect, abuse, and discrimination faced by elderly individuals. This important day reminds us of our responsibility to create a safe, respectful, and caring environment for senior citizens who have dedicated their lives to building families and communities.
At Jivanshree Institute of Paramedical Sciences and Management, we believe that every elder deserves dignity, compassion, and quality healthcare. Through education, awareness, and community engagement, we encourage students and healthcare professionals to promote the well-being and protection of older adults.
Elder abuse can take many forms, including:
Physical Abuse
Emotional or Psychological Abuse
Financial Exploitation
Neglect and Abandonment
Social Isolation
Verbal Abuse
Many elderly individuals suffer in silence. Raising awareness helps communities identify signs of abuse and take action to ensure the safety and dignity of senior citizens.
Together, Let's Create a World Free from Elder Abuse
