Career scope: Optometrists work in eye hospitals, optical retail chains, community eye-care programs, and can also move into research or academia with higher qualifications. Note: In India, optometrists are trained to test vision, prescribe corrective lenses, and manage certain eye conditions non-surgically — they don't perform eye surgery (that's the ophthalmologist's role
