What it is
A diploma-level course that trains you to deliver basic preventive, promotive, and primary healthcare at the community level. Multipurpose Health Workers (Male/Female) usually work at sub-centres and Primary Health Centres (PHCs), especially in rural areas.

Usually 2 years,
Training combines classroom theory with field and hospital practicals.
Eligibility
Usually a 10+2 pass, often with Science (Biology), though some institutes accept any stream.
Minimum marks are often around 40 to 50%.
Government training schools run by state health departments often have their own selection process, reservation rules, and sometimes an entrance test.
